Chapter 38- Nightmares

Letisha’s POV

I clung to Adrian’s jacket, trying to calm my racing heart as he stalked from the hotel’s entrance with me in his arms. I’ve never been so wary of my husband as I was at that moment, but I’ve also never seen him that angry before.

“Adrian…”

I remained silent. He’d remained silent the entire way down. And that was a greater indication of his anger than his earlier display of violence.

Not for the first time, I regretted ever having met Michael. If I hadn’t met him, none of this would have happened. Then again, if I hadn’t met him, would I have ever met Adrian?

I couldn't imagine what my life would be like without him now. My anxiety spiked at the very thought. Life without Adrian wasn’t something I wanted to think about. But the reality of it was that it very much might be something I would have to face. Sooner rather than later, if I didn’t manage to convince him of the truth.

“Adrian…I didn't come here willingly. You…you believe me, don’t you?”
