The cedarwood box's latch had been broken when Nezuko had made her emergency escape, so to prevent it from opening, Ryuji used his new skill to seal it shut.

"Whoa~ Did he just shoot webbing from his hands? Isn't that a demon's ability?" Shinobu was startled by Ryuji's display.

If Ryuji hadn't smelled human and wasn't Giyu Tomioka's junior brother, Shinobu would have attacked him, assuming he was a demon in disguise.

Giyu was also surprised but didn't show it. He hadn't interacted much with Ryuji, so he wasn't aware of all his unusual abilities.

However, in Giyu's mind, Ryuji was an anomaly, defying common sense. "Anomaly" was the only word Giyu could use to describe him.

"He's unique! Provoking him was a foolish move," Giyu said calmly to Shinobu.

Ryuji hoisted the cedarwood box onto his back and helped Tanjiro to his feet. "Tanjiro, can you walk?"

Tanjiro attempted to walk, but it was slow and arduous, even with Ryuji's support. Without Ryuji, he could barely stand.

Seeing this, Shinobu said to Ryuji, "Since he can't walk, I'll call for someone to carry him. It'll be easier on him."

Ryuji didn't object to Shinobu's offer, though their relationship remained strained.

Following Shinobu's signal flare, members of the {Hidden} division arrived. Several of the masked members were those Ryuji had saved during the selection process on Mount Fujikasane, who had later joined the {Hidden} division.

Upon seeing Ryuji, they were excited. He was their savior; without him, they would have died on Mount Fujikasane.

They were also satisfied with their current work and treatment, so they approached him eagerly.

"Senior Ryuji! You're still alive! We knew someone as strong as you on Mount Fujikasane wouldn't die easily!"

"Yeah, yeah! When we heard many members perished on Spider Mountain, we were worried sick about you!"

"Um, what happened to Tanjiro? Is he alright?"

The {Hidden} members who knew Ryuji crowded around him, excitedly talking.

Shinobu was surprised. Ryuji was known within the {Hidden} division?! Why hadn't she known about him?

Ryuji, puzzled, asked, "You know me?"

Seeing Ryuji's lack of recognition, they removed their masks, revealing their faces. "It's us! We were with you on Mount Fujikasane during the selection. You saved us!"
