Chapter 4

A nanny was by her side.

Compared to my disheveled state while caring for our son, Brent treated her with the utmost care.

I smiled sarcastically.

I sent Brent my location.

"My son and I are at these malls. There's too much stuff to carry. Can you come pick us up?"

Brent replied quickly.

His words seemed a bit hesitant.

"Where did you go? I can't get away right now. Why don't you take a cab?"

I knew he was just afraid of running into Vivienne.

He claimed Vivienne was understanding, that his cousin wouldn't cause us any trouble.

But as a woman myself, I didn't believe she could stand by and watch the man she loved strolling happily with his darling child.

She wouldn't be able to swallow that bitter pill.

Since the car accident idea in my past life was her suggestion.

This time, I'll let her personally send Brent on his way!

I typed on the keyboard, replying casually.

"I'm exhausted and can't walk anymore. It's rush hour now, so I can't get a cab either. Why don't you just come yourself? I'll wait for you at the coffee shop downstairs in the mall."

"My phone's about to die. Please come soon!""Darling, I bought you a surprise today! Here's a friendly hint: it's a cute animal, and its tail can move!"

This was followed by a tempting emoji of red lips blowing a kiss.

Men always fall for this kind of thing.

Too bad I only realized this after my rebirth.

Sure enough, Brent immediately wavered.

"Honey, you're too good to me! I'll be right there!"

To enjoy it sooner, a one-hour journey...

Brent forcibly cut the time in half.

When he arrived, Vivienne was sitting on a chair in the mall, resting her feet.

Noticing her figure, Brent's expression instantly became flustered.

He grabbed the shopping bags I bought and was about to head out.

"Why did you buy so much? I have a meeting later, let's go home first."

I tugged on his arm, acting coy with him.

"Babe, I rarely get to go out. I haven't bought the surprise I showed you earlier because I couldn't carry it all. I had to wait for you to come. Let's go buy it now, you'll love it."

It was my first time acting cute with him, and Brent couldn't refuse.

By the time he realized what was happening, I had already pulled him into the mall.

Vivienne happened to be sitting right in front of that lingerie store, and she spotted us immediately.

Suppressing her surge of resentment, she stood up to greet us.

"Cousin?"Sister-in-law? What a coincidence. Are you guys out shopping too?"

Brent was too guilty to speak.

I snuggled up to him suggestively and winked at Vivienne.

"Oh, it's you, cousin. Are you out shopping with your child too? It must be tough taking care of a kid alone. It's a shame you haven't met the right person yet. I hope someday you'll find a good man like your cousin. He does all the housework at home. He even tries to do everything for me!"

"Our anniversary is coming up, so I'm out buying him a surprise. Even after having kids, you still need a little passion to spice things up in a marriage, you know?"

"Big sis is the expert on this stuff. When you find a good man, feel free to come ask me for advice anytime!" Vivienne's face had turned as dark as the bottom of a pot.

She was about to say something else, but Brent cut in:

"Vivienne's not looking to get married right now. We can talk about that later. And you, bringing this up in front of all these people - how embarrassing. Let's go buy what we need. The kid will be hungry soon."

I hugged the child and deliberately planted a kiss on Brent's cheek.

"Thanks for caring, honey. How did I get so lucky to find you?"
