The next day, the city was bustling despite the heavy atmosphere that hung over it. Several humans were running across the walls, installing ballistas and stone throwers. Although it was strange, they were preparing to face an unknown creature that was going to attack the city.
"Hey, have you seen Kaiser? I haven't seen him since that first time. Any ideas?" Liam asked as he joined Hazel on the city wall.
"None so far. He's probably dead." Hazel replied, a little bit too cold.
'I really hope he dies together with that creature. On second thought, he shouldn't. Arrghh! This is frustrating.'
"Hey! That's too odd, I thought you guys were close." Liam chided with a small frown, dissatisfied.
"Whatever." Waving in dismissal, Hazel asked. "How many men do we have willing to fight?"
"Approximately 600 if we count the guards who strangely surrendered. This is quite a large force." Liam nodded in satisfaction.
