On Valentine's Day, Darling forced me to perform surgery on his little junior sister, disregarding my exhaustion from just finishing three surgeries.
After the surgery, I nearly fainted due to low blood sugar. Not only did Darling not care about me, but he also slapped me.
"Scarlett, there's a time and place for jealousy. Little junior sister just had surgery, how could you not arrange a bed for her?"
Before I could explain that a minor polyp removal surgery doesn't require hospitalization,
Little junior sister spoke up with a pitiful expression, "Dr. Westwood, even if you can't stand Chase treating me well, you shouldn't bully people like this."
Chase, without listening to my explanation, immediately concluded that I had bullied his little junior sister and defended her at every turn.
I watched their loving display and inwardly sneered.
Five years of true love had ultimately been wasted, without my behind-the-scenes help.
I want to see if Chase falls from heaven to hell, will his little junior sister still want him!

"Chase, please don't give Dr. Westwood a hard time. I'm sure she didn't mean any harm."
Felicity's eyes glistened with tears as she flashed me a victorious look.
Chase glanced down at the woman in his arms, his hand naturally slipping around her waist.
I managed to steady myself, my face burning with humiliation.
Throughout our five-year marriage, I'd always known Chase harbored a pure love in his heart.
But after all these years together, I thought our bond had transcended everything else.
Who could have imagined he'd believe the one-sided words of his pure love and raise a hand against me?
In that moment, it felt as if someone was mercilessly stabbing my heart with a knife.
The pain was so intense that my emotions surged, and my eyes welled up with tears.
"Chase, do you realize what you're doing?"
Chase spoke with utter disappointment in his voice:
"Scarlett, I've told you she's just my junior from med school."
"Why do you insist on twisting things? As the head of the OB-GYN department, you should have basic professional ethics."
He was my husband, yet here he was at the operating room entrance, doubting and questioning me in front of everyone.
He didn't even consider that his accusation could potentially undo all the years of hard work I'd put in.Seated in the position of chief physician, he knew the hardships that came with it.
I gazed at Chase with a look of utter despair, never imagining that my husband would one day embrace another woman, trying to push me into hell right before my eyes.
Memories of our past together flashed through my mind, now dripping with bitter irony.
"Chase, do you know I just performed surgery for nearly ten hours?!"
My slightly reddened eyes fell on his hand, tightly wrapped around Felicity.
Chase didn't find anything inappropriate about it. Instead, my words seemed to infuriate him.
"Scarlett, don't be ungrateful," Chase warned, his face tinged with anger.
I laughed.
No matter what I said or did, in his eyes, it was always wrong.
Instinctively, I wiped away a tear and asked the medical assistant to process Felicity's discharge papers.
"Chase, I... I don't want to be discharged. How can I leave in this condition?" she coughed twice, feigning weakness, which only made Chase more sympathetic towards her.
He looked at me as if he wanted to stab me.
I maintained a cold expression, no longer acknowledging them, and instructed the medical assistant to handle the case file for me to sign.
"Scarlett, are you trying to abuse your authority?""Who are you to kick Felicity out of the hospital?"
Chase said, gently patting Felicity's back to comfort her.
When he looked at me, his expression was one of wanting to swallow me whole.
Just yesterday, we had agreed to go out together for Valentine's Day.
Now he was repeatedly slandering me.
I grabbed Felicity's medical chart and threw it forcefully in his face:
"Chase, open your eyes and see clearly. A cervical polyp removal doesn't qualify for hospitalization."
"You were the one who forced me to admit Felicity. What now? Does Vice Dean Langdon want to abuse her power?"
Chase's face turned from pale to flushed.
My words had angered him once again.
He let go of Felicity and pulled me aside, telling me to obey and not cause trouble with him.
"Darling, how am I supposed to maintain my position at the hospital if you act like this?"
He was, after all, a Deputy Chief of Staff, and I wasn't even listening to him.
If word of this got out, how could he keep his standing in the hospital?
