Chapter 4

"Bitch, get your ass out here right now!"

I was in the middle of examining a patient when I faintly heard the commotion outside.

It wasn't until a nurse rushed in, flustered, to explain the situation that I realized someone had come to cause trouble for me.

I asked my colleagues to handle the remaining patients and got up to walk outside.

When the middle-aged woman saw me, her eyes looked me up and down with contempt and disdain.

She tried to grab my hair, but I dodged her attempt.

I frowned in displeasure and said:

"Who are you? What do you want?

"If you don't listen to reason and continue to cause a scene here, I'll have no choice but to call security to escort you out."

"I spit on you..." She crudely spat at me.

Then she pulled out a megaphone and began to loudly proclaim:

"Attention all patients, do not under any circumstances see this unethical doctor.

"My daughter was her patient, and a simple cervical polyp removal caused my daughter to hemorrhage severely. Now she's lying at home, too weak to move.

"This bitch is trying to make money by endangering lives."

She tried to stir up the emotions of the patients.

But I was known in the hospital as a conscientious doctor, and no one was buying what she was selling. Some people even started saying she came to make trouble, suggesting who knows if her daughter went out and did something reckless after the surgery?

This angered her so much she wanted to rush over and attack someone.

The incident quickly escalated to the hospital director's attention.

When Felicity's mom and I were both brought to the office, we found Chase was already there.

Felicity was Chase's pure love, and her mother was an old acquaintance of Chase's.

She rushed over to Chase, crying and pleading:

"Chase, you're the Deputy Chief of Staff at this hospital. You have to get justice for Felicity. Don't let that vicious doctor off the hook."

I watched coldly as Chase comforted her and carefully led her to sit on the couch.

When Chase met my eyes, he frowned deeply.

The next second, he started reprimanding me:

"Scarlett, I warned you earlier not to force Felicity to be discharged. You see... something bad happened, didn't it?"

His tone suggested he had anticipated this all along.

He leaned in close and said in a low voice:

"Darling, you won't learn your lesson unless you're taught one.""Just ask me, darling, and I'll help you smooth this whole thing over."

"I can guarantee you that Felicity won't pursue any action against you."

I never could have imagined this in my wildest dreams.

I was the one who recommended him for the position of Deputy Chief of Staff, and now... he's using that very position to threaten me.

Is it because I filed for divorce that his ego was bruised?

So this is his revenge?

Heh, I just smirked coldly, not bothering to respond.

Chase lost his cool again and turned to the hospital director:

"Director, although Dr. Westwood and I are married."

"The fact is, she's clearly in the wrong here. Whatever punishment you decide, I won't object."

The director glanced at him upon hearing this, then fixed his gaze on me.

"Dr. Westwood, do you have anything to say?"

I remained silent.

The director sighed, about to hand down a suspension.

Before he could finish speaking, a deep voice boomed from outside.

"Who dares to touch Dr. Westwood?"

"Chairman Westwood, what brings you here?"

The director stood up to greet him.I looked up at Grandpa, his aged face filled with anger.
