Ms. Kerpan was very concerned and asked me what was going on, whispering anxiously. Even the Dean of Students called me in for a talk.
As I came out of the Dean's office, Xavion was standing right there at the door. His eyes were full of smugness.
"If you come back to me now, I can still give you one more chance. Who else would want someone like you – orphaned and with questionable character?"
I flashed him a smile, stepping forward to let him see the group of people behind me. I wonder what he was thinking.
To say such things in a place like this – the Dean is a very strict teacher, and she was standing right behind me.
She must have heard Xavion's words clearly, along with several grade-level teachers behind her, all looking at Xavion with incredibly strange expressions.
Xavion was visibly flustered. I watched as his face filled with panic, not knowing how to wriggle out of this situation.
