"You continue being her lapdog. I've found a more suitable marriage prospect and won't bother you anymore."

I didn't look at anyone else's expression after saying that. I grabbed Garrison's hand and walked out, with Garrison following behind me silently.

Xavion chased after us, grabbing my other hand with an irritated tone, "Delia, what do you mean by this?"

I shook off his hand and turned to look at this man I had loved deeply for three years, who now seemed utterly unfamiliar.

"What do I mean? I heard everything you said while hugging Harlow on New Year's Eve, and I just heard what you said to your mom. If you want to debase yourself as her lapdog, that's your business. I'm not willing to be your backup plan anymore, got it?!"

I continued walking after I finished speaking. Xavion didn't follow us anymore. I quickened my pace and rushed out of the restaurant in one breath.
