Chapter 51 PAINFUL REALITY

Hearing from Celine that Grey had already settled everything was an assurance. I was still weak, and I doubted if I could walk on my own at all if I tried to get up from the bed.

“I don’t know how to live without her.” The words softly emerged from my lips before I could even stop myself. I clenched my fists at my side and tried to keep the tears at bay. But try as I might, I couldn’t hold back the tears and they fell down on my cheeks.

Celine took my hand. With tears in her eyes, she spoke. “I feel the same, Lily. I feel lost without her. It feels as though a part of me has been taken away when she died.”

For a moment, none of us spoke as we both took the time to compose ourselves.

“Has Mom told you about something before she died?” Celine suddenly asked.

My gaze curiously landed on her face. “No.” I told her, but after a moment of hesitation, I continued. “But I could feel Mom was hiding something from me, Celine.”
