Rosalyn laughed sarcastically. She laughed until her eyes were brimming with tears. Anthony was standing confused at her sudden outburst.
"Do you have short-term memory loss?” She asked Anthony.
“What are you talking about?” Anthony’s eyebrow furrowed.
“I asked you, Anthony, for help once before we were divorced when we were at the lake," she said. "But not once did he respond positively. I kept asking you repeatedly, but you stood there and paid no heed to my cries. Remember?
Anthony stood quietly; he remembers everything clearly. He doesn’t know how to respond to that.
“You have always been the first person to abandon me."
She shook her head. "Now you are saying I should have called you instead of Caleb? So, you would have left me to die? No thanks, I like living” she said,
“Since that day at the lake house, I promised myself, I would never expect any help from him again. And I intend to keep that promise."
