Chapter 56 Time to prove myself.

IRENE'S POV

Leon’s support fueled a burning determination within me. I was ready to show the entire pack what I was capable of. Carlyle returned to whisper something into Leon's ears and as he left from whispering something to Leon, I stepped forward, my gaze sharp.

“I don't know what you want to say, but I'm sorry about earlier.” Carlyle uttered.

“Carlyle,” I began. “I don’t need a reluctant apology from you right now. What I want is for you to apologize publicly to the entire pack if I win this challenge. And I expect it to be sincere.”

Carlyle's eyes flicked to me, narrowing slightly, but I didn’t waver. His silence stretched for a moment before he crossed his arms over his chest, a smirk playing on his lips.

“You’re that confident?” he asked with pure condescension. “You really think you’ll win?”

I met his gaze without flinching. “Yes, I do. And when I win, your apology will prove that I’m worthy of being Leon’s Luna. No one will dare question it after that.”
