RONAN’S POV:
I parked in front of Nikolai’s house, the engine’s hum fading into the quiet street. My hand hesitated over the steering wheel before I finally stepped out, the cool morning air hitting me as I approached the door. I was about to knock when it swung open, catching me off guard.
“Hey,” I said, my voice a little rough, trying to compose myself as I took her in. Liora stood there, the porch light casting a warm glow on her. She wore a simple nude dress that hugged her figure just right, a jacket draped over her arm for the morning chill. The way her blonde hair was swept up, with a few rebellious strands framing her face, made her look effortlessly beautiful.
“Hey,” she replied, a smile lighting up her features.
For a moment, I couldn’t find my voice. She looked stunning, more than I was prepared for, and it was hard not to let my gaze linger. “Hope I’m not late?” I finally managed to ask, though it came out quieter than I intended.
