RONAN'S POV;

The low hum of city traffic buzzed outside my hotel window, a steady drone that barely registered anymore. The Seminar had drained every ounce of energy from me, and all I craved was a quiet evening to decompress. My talk earlier in the day had gone well—better than expected, actually. I'd even earned a few approving nods from some big names in the industry as well. Normally, that would be enough to fill me with a sense of accomplishment, but even the satisfaction of nailing the presentation wasn't enough to stop my mind from wandering to where it had no business going. No matter how far I traveled, no matter how many miles separated us, she was always there—lingering at the edge of my thoughts like an uninvited guest.
