CATHERINE'S POV;
I sat at the bar for nearly an hour, sipping my drink slowly as the ice melted, waiting for a man who seemed to have no sense of punctuality or respect. This was supposed to be my new catch, someone who could help with my financial struggles, but he hadn’t even bothered to show up on time. I was about to call it a night, already fed up with the whole thing, when he finally strolled in.
“Catherine, My schedule was so tight. Have you ordered anything?” he said as he sat down casually, without even a hint of an apology. His tone was cool, like he hadn’t just left me waiting for almost an hour.
I clenched my jaw, feeling my irritation bubbling just beneath the surface.
'Sure, I may be desperate to find a man to help me out of my financial mess, but I’m not so desperate that I’ll let someone walk all over me,' I thought bitterly.
