RONAN'S POV
The sound of my phone vibrating against the hardwood nightstand jolted me awake, cutting through the quiet of the room like a blade. I groaned, groggily reaching out for the phone, half-expecting it to be another business notification. But as I glanced at the screen, my mother’s name flashed, and an uneasy feeling settled in my chest.
“Mom?” I answered, my voice still rough with sleep.
“Ronan,” she replied, her voice thick with urgency and something else—fear. I could hear it. “It’s your father. He’s collapsed. They’re rushing him to the hospital.”
For a moment, the world seemed to stop. I sat up abruptly, my pulse quickening as the weight of her words sank in. My father. Collapsed. Hospital.
“What happened?” I asked, my throat tightening.
