Chapter 70 THE LIE!

RONAN'S POV:

The second we entered the room, I called out softly, "Dad."

He looked up from where he lay, surrounded by machines, with wires and patches monitoring every possible sign of life. His face lit up a little when he saw me, though he still looked weak. “Ronan,” he said, his voice thin but filled with warmth.

Dad glanvfy over at mother, who was sitting by his bedside, her face a mixture of relief and exhaustion. "Edith, , don't tell me you dragged him away from the seminar in California just for this," Dad teased, although he was genuinely worried.

“What was I supposed to do, Eric?” she responded, looking down at Dad but with a playful smile. "I needed my support system, didn’t I?"

She was always the tough one in moments like this, but I could see through the mask. The fatigue in her voice betrayed how scared she had been when Dad had his heart attack.
