RONAN’S POV
I didn’t like how things had ended between I and Liora yesterday. Her silence, the way she sent Shawn to collect her things rather than coming herself—it stung more than I wanted to admit. But I planned to make it right. Maybe some flowers and her favorite vanilla and chocolate ice cream would be a good start, a way to bridge the gap I’d somehow let grow between us.
As I sat in my office, waiting for Mark, my secretary, to return with the flowers and ice cream, a knock sounded on the door. I looked up, expecting him, but instead, in walked Sophie.
She looked stunning, as usual, wearing a fitted red dress that accentuated her figure. But, to be honest, I wasn’t thrilled to see her. Sophie’s visits had a habit of derailing my plans, and with everything I had on my mind, I wasn’t exactly in the mood for surprises.
“Why the long face?” she asked, flashing a bright smile. “Not happy to see me?”
