Chapter 107 SOMETHING ODD!

LIORA'S POV;

I turned back to my dress, carefully placing the tiny, sparkling beads along the neckline of the after-wedding dress. This was my latest project, a delicate piece with subtle elegance, meant to embody a bride’s personality after the ceremony’s extravagance. I was so immersed that I barely noticed a figure behind me until I felt the familiar warmth of someone’s presence.

Turning around, I saw Max grinning. “Hey, did I scare you?” he asked, chuckling.

“Almost, but I heard you coming,” I replied with a smile. He extended a fresh bouquet of roses toward me.

“Oh, Max, thank you,” I said, feeling a warmth in my chest that I tried to hide behind a polite smile. I didn’t want to admit to him that the gesture felt a bit unnecessary.

I called out to Cynthia, who came over immediately. “Please, preserve these for me,” I said, gesturing to the flowers before returning to my work.

“How was your day?” I asked Max, hoping to maintain the easygoing atmosphere between us.
