Chapter 122 SOMETHING'S OFF!

RONAN'S POV:

The evening air hung heavy with the weight of my thoughts. I sat at my desk, trying to bury myself in the paperwork scattered before me, pretending to focus on the tasks that awaited my attention. But my mind kept wandering, always returning to one thought: Liora. I hadn’t heard from her since this morning, and the silence was gnawing at me.

I glanced down at my phone again, expecting to see a missed call from her, but no—nothing. I had reached out to her several times after the meeting at the company, earlier today. She hadn’t picked up. I’d left messages, but still, no response. I didn’t like it. My chest tightened as I wondered if something had happened to her. Was she safe? Was everything okay?

A knock at the door broke my train of thought.

“Who’s there?” I called out, my voice low, betraying the impatience I felt rising inside me.

“It’s Mrs. Freda, sir,” came the voice from outside. “Your mother sent me to call you. Dinner’s ready.”
