The vintage charm of Palmrost Resort was both soothing and unnerving. The wooden beams creaked under the soft glow of antique chandeliers, and the faint scent of lavender lingered in the air. It was a place that demanded calm, but my nerves refused to settle.

I couldn’t go to her room just yet—not without a gesture that showed her how much I cared. Words alone wouldn’t be enough, not after everything I’d done.

I spotted a small flower shop tucked into a corner of the resort. The sign read “The Rosewood Nook,” its windows adorned with delicate arrangements. Stepping inside, I was greeted by the floral scent of roses and daisies.

“Can I help you?” asked the florist, an older woman with kind eyes.

“Yes,” I said, clearing my throat. “I’d like to send flowers to someone staying here. Something meaningful... but not too much. Just enough to say, ‘I’m sorry.’”
