Chapter 75 I'll never leave her

Ryder's pov ;

Sage sat on the edge of my desk, legs crossed, eyes gleaming with mischief. “Come on, Ryder. It’s been ages. Don’t you want to spend some time together like we used to in college? Let's go to the movies!”

I sighed, my hands gripping the armrests of my chair as I leaned back, staring at her with half-hearted patience. My mind was elsewhere, tangled in thoughts of Aubrey.

Lately, it felt like everything about her occupied my head, making it impossible to focus on anything or anyone else.

“I can’t, Sage. I’ve got a meeting in half an hour,” I said flatly, not bothering to mask the irritation creeping into my voice.

She pouted, the familiar whine in her tone grating on my nerves. “You’re always busy now. We never get to hang out anymore. Is this because of her? Is she giving you a hard time again like she used to three years ago, always calling you asking for dinner and blah blah!”
