Aubrey’s pov ;
“I’m going home,” I said quickly, cutting off whatever response Alex was about to throw back. I didn’t need another punch being thrown or more insults exchanged. This was getting out of hand. I felt Ryder’s hand tighten around mine, his body still tense as he shot one last glare at Alex.
“Are you sure?” Alex asked, his voice calm again, his eyes flicking toward Ryder’s hand on me.
“Yes, Alex, I’m sure. Thank you for everything, but just—just go, okay?” My voice was softer now, more pleading than before. The last thing I needed was for things to escalate further.
He hesitated, eyes flicking between me and Ryder before nodding, giving me a concerned look. “Alright. Call me if you need anything.”
I nodded, watching as Alex walked away, leaving me standing there with Ryder.
