Ryder’s pov ;

She threw me out of the bathroom, slamming the door behind her. I stood there for a second, shaking my head with a smirk. God, she’s such a handful. I leaned against the wall, reaching into my pocket when my phone buzzed.

Of course, it was Sage. Usual routine. Crying and begging for more money.

"Ryder," she whined, her voice on the edge of hysterics. "I feel really ashamed…but the medicines—”

"I’m kinda busy right now," I cut in. “I'll message my manager to take care of you, so don't cry.”

“Thank you so much! Can we meet-”

“I’ll talk to you later."

“Later, Sage," I repeated, sharper this time, before hanging up.

I wasn’t in the mood for her mess tonight. Besides, I didn’t need Aubrey overhearing that and assuming the worst again. She’d been quick enough to throw out words like *cheater* and *manwhore* the last time, and I didn’t feel like having another one of those arguments.
