Nicholas got out of the car, and a staff member quickly arrived to escort them inside. As they walked into the hotel, Emily’s expression tightened when she discovered Amor had only booked one room for both of them. She handed her ID card to the receptionist.
"Could you please book me another room?" she asked politely.
The receptionist was about to take her ID when Nicholas's hand swiftly snatched it away. Emily turned to him, frowning.
"Give me back my ID, Nicholas."
He met her gaze coldly. "Have you ever seen a married couple sleeping in separate rooms?"
Emily's patience was thinning. "Nicholas, I don't want to argue with you here. Hand over my ID before I lose my patience."
Nicholas ignored her, walking straight to the front desk. "Give me the room key."
The receptionist, visibly unsettled by Nicholas's imposing presence, hesitated briefly before quickly finding the key. With it in hand, Nicholas reached out to pull Emily toward him. She quickly stepped back, her voice cold.
