Nicholas seized her wrist, his voice icy. "Emily, do you realize Kristen could’ve been killed after that fall? No matter how much you dislike her, you had no right to be so cruel!"
Emily glanced at his hand, her face unreadable. "Cruel? Have I always been like this, or is today the first time you're seeing it? If you have nothing else to say, stay out of my sight. You're a nuisance."
Nicholas’s anger flared. "Apologize to Kristen!"
"Not happening."
Just then, Emily’s eyes caught something on the horse’s hindquarters. Her expression darkened, turning cold as ice.
Nicholas roughly grabbed Emily's arm and pulled her out of the stable. Emily struggled to break free but was unable to resist and was dragged to the resting area. There, a room was set up for customers to recover. After Alan brought Kristen in, he immediately had her examined by a doctor. When Nicholas arrived with Emily, the doctor addressed Alan with a serious tone.
