Emily paused, then spoke slowly. “Alright, Mr. Ponce. Since you’re sincere, I can consider dropping the lawsuit. But tell me, how do you intend for Kristen to apologize?”
Charles brightened at her words. “I’ll arrange a formal banquet, invite the entire upper class, and have her make a public apology to you. We’ll also record a video and post it online. Will that satisfy you, Ms. White?”
Emily’s expression remained steady as she nodded. “Very well. But, Mr. Ponce, I’d advise you not to focus solely on business. You should also be mindful of the company your daughter keeps. If she’s used as a pawn again, I won’t go easy next time.”
Charles nodded quickly. “Understood, Ms. White. I’ll see to it she’s properly guided.”
When Emily returned to the villa, she felt a bit uneasy seeing Nicholas sitting at the table, waiting for her to start dinner.
As she sat down, she said, "Let’s eat. Next time, you don’t have to wait for me.”
