Emily’s expression remained indifferent as she replied, “Why wouldn’t I dare?”
"I’m your mother! A lesson was necessary!” her father argued, while Silya chimed in, "Emily, Mom didn’t sleep all night because of you. She’s been crying over this! Don’t be so stubborn. Withdraw the lawsuit, will you? Or do you want to watch her lose face and apologize to Kristen’s family?”
Emily gave a faint smile. “Kristen slandered me online, and rather than confronting the real culprit, you come after me—the victim—to drop the lawsuit. Don’t you think that’s absurd?”
Silya’s voice rose sharply. "Emily, if you hadn’t done anything wrong, why would Kristen post those things? If you don’t withdraw this lawsuit, consider yourself no daughter of mine!”
Emily nodded slowly. “You’re right—I did make a mistake.”
Silya's eyes lit up, surprised by Emily's sudden shift, and she scoffed, “Good! As long as you’re willing to apologize, I’ll let it go.”
