Emily's gaze held a hint of disbelief as she looked at Nicholas, brows knitted in concern. "Mr. Sinclair, do you really want to risk going through what happened three years ago?"
Three years earlier, a car accident had left Nicholas partially paralyzed, and the turmoil within the Sinclair Group had only worsened. The shareholders took advantage of his vulnerability, and his uncle seized the role of president, pushing Nicholas out of his own company. His father, preoccupied with his own troubles, offered little support. Only as Nicholas’s condition improved did he regain his position and stabilize the company.
Nicholas's expression turned cold and distant. "That was three years ago. Things are different now—I won’t let any of that happen again."
"Then why are you refusing treatment for your leg?" Emily pressed.
Nicholas gripped the armrest of his wheelchair, his tone icy. "That’s none of your concern."
