Luminary annual ceremony rolled around faster than Ivory had planned. By the time she had been discharged from the hospital, found an attire for the theme and got everything done, the day was nearly over, and the night, had descended.
“You look wonderful, Ivory.”
Turning her head to the side, her eyes landed on Lucien who stood by the door, dressed in a black suit with his dark hair neatly combed back.
His eyes scanned her appearance for a bit longer and the smile on his lips dipped ever so slightly. “Too beautiful, if I must say. There’s no doubt a lot of men will have their eyes on you.”
Ivory couldn’t help but smile. “Flattery will get you nowhere, Lucien.” She said, turning back to the mirror, and examining her appearance once more.
