Chapter 4

Susan's face bore the expected languor. "Frost, you've decided to show up? Where's the ring? Did you manage to fish it out?"

"The ring?" I pulled my lips into a cold curve. "You mean that piece of trash? It's probably still at the bottom of the lake. After all, garbage should stay where it belongs."

Susan's smile instantly froze. "Frost, what are you saying?"

Ignoring her bewilderment, I handed her the red and gold-embossed invitation. "Tomorrow, Elise and I are getting married. Miss Shaw, you're welcome to grace us with your presence."

Groom: Frost. Bride: Elise.

Those names pierced Susan's eyes like needles.

Her face suddenly turned pale as she abruptly stood up.

Then, as if remembering something, she burst out laughing. "Frost, what kind of joke are you trying to pull?"

"A joke?" I looked at her coldly, with an icy detachment she had never seen before. "Miss Shaw, do you think I would joke about the most important decision of my life?"

Seeing my serious demeanor, she began to panic. "Are you still upset about the ring? Come on, stop messing around!"

I felt like I'd just heard a hilarious joke and was about to respond when my phone rang. The caller ID displayed: [Elise].

I answered the phone right in front of her, "Darling, I'll be back soon."

Susan laughed scornfully, "Frost, you really are something, even hiring extras now."

"If you apologize nicely right now, I'll show up on time for the wedding tomorrow."

"Otherwise, you'll become the biggest laughingstock in New York City tomorrow!"

Huh, who'll end up being the laughingstock at tomorrow's wedding is still up for debate.

After hanging up, I ignored her and left the Qin Family Estate mansion without another word.

Susan's angry shouts followed me, "Frost, don't come crawling back to me like a dog later!"

The wedding of the century between the Frost and Winters families began under the spotlight of public attention.

Outside the luxurious hotel ballroom, a red carpet stretched out, surrounded by flowers, with celebrities gathering.

A white sports car stopped at the hotel entrance with an almost overbearing attitude. The door opened, and out stepped Susan.

She was wearing a haute couture wedding dress and walked straight towards the ballroom entrance.

"Miss, please show your invitation," the diligent security guard immediately stepped forward to stop her.Susan lifted her chin haughtily, her eyes sweeping over the security guard with disdain. Her tone carried an undeniable command, "Move aside! I'm the bride today!"

The security guard was stunned for a moment, clearly not expecting this turn of events. "I'm sorry, miss, but today's bride is Miss Elise. She's already inside."

"Elise?" Susan snorted as if she'd just heard the joke of the century. "Who the hell is she? Nothing but a pawn Frost pushed out to spite me!"

"Get out of my way this instant! If you delay the auspicious time, can you bear the consequences?!"

Her voice was sharp and grating, drawing sidelong glances and hushed whispers from the surrounding guests.

"Isn't that the eldest daughter of the Shaw family? Why is she here in a wedding dress?"
