chapter 30

Loki pressed a button on the side, and the opening at the bottom of the cage slid open.

"Take your hand away."

Just as the situation became critical, a calm yet firm voice echoed through the room.

Loki looked up.

It was none other than Agent Coulson, a high-ranking agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., widely respected by all the Avengers.

In his hand, Coulson held a large weapon that, at first glance, looked like a toy water gun.

"When you deployed the Destroyer to Earth, we created the prototype for this," Coulson said with a smile. "Even I don't know how powerful it is."

Seeing Coulson's confidence, Loki raised his hands and gave a mock obedient smile. Coulson let out a small sigh of relief when suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his chest.

Looking down, he saw a spear tip protruding from his chest, blood dripping from the wound.

"No!!!" Thor cried out in pain, his voice filled with anger as he watched.

Ignoring the sound of Thor's wail, Loki casually tossed Coulson's body aside, as if it were nothing more than discarded trash.

"Now, no one will disturb me."

He smirked, pressing a button to trigger the device at his side.

Before Thor could react, Loki, with a quick movement, made sure to send him flying off the ship. The sound of him falling echoed through the air.

Loki nodded in satisfaction and turned to leave the room.

"You won't win." Coulson's weak voice came from behind him.

Loki paused and turned, intrigued by Coulson's persistence.

However, before he could say anything, Coulson summoned the last of his strength and pulled the trigger on the weapon he still held.

A buzzing sound filled the air as a yellow beam shot from the weapon, striking Loki with force.

"So that's the power…" Coulson murmured, a hint of satisfaction on his face before his eyes closed, his injuries too severe for him to survive.

He had no way of knowing that the weapon had no chance of truly hurting Loki. Asgardians were simply too strong.

Loki cursed under his breath, clearly annoyed, and quickly boarded a nearby fighter jet. He was headed for Stark Tower in New York.

With Dr. Selvig's help, a massive portal to outer space was opened, allowing the Chitauri, who had been waiting in the void, to surge through. They descended upon Earth like an unstoppable storm.

In an instant, the alien invasion sent shockwaves through the world, chaos erupting in every corner of New York. News outlets were reporting nonstop, and countless forces, both public and covert, were preparing to act. HYDRA, embedded within S.H.I.E.L.D., began to stir.

Meanwhile, at the X-Men's academy, the team had already gathered. They hadn't received any word from Nick Fury, but the situation on TV was enough to signal something was horribly wrong.

Professor X, watching the footage of the Chitauri wreaking havoc, looked serious.

"It seems you don't need to look for Nick Fury anymore."

"You need to go directly to New York. Something big is happening."

The Chitauri's destruction, visible on the screen, confirmed his worst fears. New York had turned into a war zone, engulfed in flames.

Charles's face grew grim as he spoke again.

"We understand, Professor," Cyclops replied.

"There's something else," Professor X added. "In times like this, it's crucial we pay attention to the bigger picture. We can't give anyone a reason to attack us."

The group nodded, their expressions hardening. Even Wolverine, known for his unruly nature, remained silent.

Charles continued, "One more thing—Ryan, that kid, is in New York as well."

The X-Men exchanged surprised glances, unsure why the Professor was particularly concerned about him. However, they trusted him and nodded in agreement.

"Take care of him if you can. He's our future hope."

Ryan had always been an enigmatic figure, but under Charles's leadership, they trusted his potential.

"I'll stay here at the academy," Charles said firmly. "Erik's forces are still a threat, and I need to guard against any surprises from Raven and her crew."

The X-Men nodded, understanding that they had to be ready for anything.

"Don't forget," Charles said with a serious tone. "Life is precious. Stay safe out there."

"Don't worry, Professor," Logan replied, lighting a cigar and assuming a captain-like posture. "We'll bring Ryan back safely, and we'll be back before you know it."

Cyclops shook his head, but smiled slightly. It was a small moment of levity before they left.

With the decision made, the X-Men took off in their high-speed fighter jets, heading directly into the chaos of New York.

Chapter 27: Chitauri Invasion! The Human Doomsday?

Meanwhile, Ryan, completely unaware of the unfolding chaos on Earth, was not even present when Loki was captured.

He was in space, working on the final research ship he had retrieved, a marvel of Kryptonian technology.

Kryptonian technology was unlike anything Earth had seen, brimming with advanced innovations. But for all its brilliance, technological civilization and raw power were entirely different. Restoring Kryptonian technology to full functionality would take the effort of countless Earth geniuses and a fully developed industrial system.

Despite his best efforts, Ryan couldn't accomplish everything in a short time. The restoration of Kryptonian tech wasn't something he could achieve alone. However, he had made progress, using the advanced equipment aboard the research ship to begin crafting a suit of armor that would be his.

For Ryan, whose body possessed the strength of Superman, operating the Kryptonian Ark wasn't a challenge. In fact, he was already inside the spaceship, fine-tuning the systems and preparing for what was to come.
