Jake winced, when Felix touched the tattoo needle to his arm. The rune was simple, but the first of many. On the plus side, Jake could make use of these runes for the rest of his life. On the bad side, Felix planned to litter his body with them. As Felix began to make the rune, Jake ground his teeth together.
He was a tank, and he could handle the pain. Beth's smile, from the chair next to the bed, was enough to give him strength. Deciding that he needed to distract himself from the pain, he turned to the blonde woman.
"So, where are you from?" He asked her, and she blinked at him. Her smile only grew, and she answered.
"From Ad-Sin, near the border. We don't have many attacks on the town because we have a gold mine. The army guards us," Beth said, and Jake nodded. He winced when Felix moved along the rune.
