Chapter 48: You think you are good, Jake?

"Again," Jake tried to stand, but even with the runes, he still felt like he could not. As preparation for the honor duel, he was now facing an old bounty hunter by the name of Andrew. Jake had thought that he could do this easily enough. He had tried to spare the old man the pain. But Andrew had just used his hesitation to lay him flat on the ground. Ten times, so far.

"Can I catch a break?" Jake asked, as Andrew began to walk towards him. The rest of the Bunny Demons Platoon were cheering for Jake, but he felt that they were too loud.

"You nearly tripped him, Jake! Don't give up now!" Beth's call was all that Jake needed, to stand on his feet. He didn't want to show his weakness before her. Yes, she knew that his hopes and dreams were pretty mediocre, but she had to know that he was strong.
