Chapter 49: The drive to be strong

"No," Bael said, and Jake blinked at him. Why was he being denied a duel with the orc? Did he think that Jake was not good enough?

"But why, sir?" Jake asked, and Bael leveled him with a glare.

"You think that just because I am an orc, you can get good training for your honor duel with Alaric out of me? But you must know that this is not so, right? Do you fight the same as Vince, or Edmund?" Put like this, Jake felt his cheeks color crimson. Bael nodded at him, and pointed at the dummies. "Just go for the animated ones. One-on-one duel with a tank should give you a pretty good idea."

Jake nodded, and then went to the dummies. He placed them on deity difficulty, and then picked one of them for the duel.

"You can do it, Jake! This is nothing compared to yesterday!" He heard Beth yell, and he smiled.

"Yeah, kick ass, Jake!" Vince shouted, and Hanna and Frank chorused after him.
