Chapter 14

As soon as Tang Yan arrived home, he noticed the lights were still on. Just as he was about to enter, he sensed the aura of a female cultivator, which surprised him. He moved towards the direction with the strongest concentration, which was near the backyard of his home.

"It's Miss Shu, how could that be? Shouldn't she be a normal person?" he whispered to himself before catching sight of a ring worn as a necklace. "Wait a moment, she's using an artifact. It's nice to have this sensitive body, but my hunch tells me it'll soon lose its value."

"Who's there?" Miss Shu shouted in a low voice, not wanting to alert the children inside the house.

Tang Yan still didn't move or say anything, as he was never planning to hide from the start.

"Don't force me to make a move," Miss Shu said again, releasing a Foundation Establishment cultivation pressure in the direction of Tang Yan.

Tang Yan slowly walked into her sight, seemingly unaffected by her aura, gradually releasing his bloodthirsty aura along with a smile. Miss Shu, upon seeing this, felt suffocated by the bloodthirstiness emitting from Tang Yan.

"So it's you... cough, cough... I can explain this; just calm down," Miss Shu said, trying to compose herself.

"Alright, sigh," Tang Yan retracted his pressure, then looked at the profusely sweating Miss Shu, who looked more mesmerizing to the eye.

"Are you really Tang Yan?" Miss Shu asked.

"Yes, I am. If I wasn't, then who would I be?" Tang Yan replied.

"How can you have such thirst for blood?" Miss Shu asked, still trying to understand.

"Don't try to avoid my question; what do you really want?" Tang Yan asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Fine, I'll tell you the truth. I'm the true disciple of the Mistress of the Slaughter Sun Sect in the Floating City, Shu Ling," Miss Shu explained.

"And how does that explain yourself?" Tang Yan asked, sitting on a nearby stool.

"My Mistress is your mother, and I was entrusted with the responsibility to look after you since you left home," Miss Shu revealed.

"Oh, it's no wonder my aunt comes visiting every month, and why I haven't been dropped out of school. As expected of Mother. But why don't I remember her face?" Tang Yan thought to himself.

"What about those silly old men?" Tang Yan asked.

"They are acquaintances of the sect, but they don't know that you are the Mistress's child, since they are members of the Du family," Miss Shu explained.

"What does the Du family have to do with me?" Tang Yan asked.

"The Du family is your father's family, and your father's name is Du Zhiquan. You may have known this since you chose the surname Tang instead of Du," Miss Shu replied.

"I never liked him from the bottom of my soul, so there's no need to talk about such an unimportant person. Guess this is why Mother left him," Tang Yan said, his expression cold.

"Actually, the Mistress said that you are not the connection between both of them, which makes me more confused," Miss Shu added.

"Enough of the family nonsense talk. I guess Mother must have really trusted you to be able to allow you to know such things," Tang Yan yawned.

"So, then what is your cultivation base?" he asked, seemingly thinking about something.

"Late stage of Foundation Establishment," Miss Shu replied, staring blankly at him.

It had to be known that ever since Tang Yan reconstructed his meridians, his eyes had become clear and spirited, along with his rough aura emitting from him. This was also one of the reasons why Miss Shu wanted to stay beside him.

"Will Aunt be coming tomorrow?" Tang Yan asked.

"She should be able to make it here by noon if nothing serious happens," Miss Shu replied.

"Forgive me for my rudeness, but may I know of your cultivation..." Tang Yan asked.

"As of now, sixth stage of Qi condensation; not much to it," Tang Yan said solemnly, looking towards the bright street lights orderly lined up across the city.

Miss Shu felt that the Tang Yan right now was very hard to comprehend.

(T/L: just to clarify, in the previous chapters,it's Miss shu to Tang Yan and madame to the three old Men. Sorry for the inconveniences)
