Chapter 13

Outside the school gate, Chen Xi's driver arrived, only to find his young lady bruised. "Milady, what happened to you? Did anyone attack you?" he asked with a concerned voice.

"Nobody attacked me; I just bruised myself trying to practice. Did something happen to Father?" she asked, since today was the day her father was supposed to pick her up after his arrival.

"It's a complicated thing to explain, but it's all been resolved," the driver responded as he helped Chen Xi into the car before closing the door.

Their conversation continued as he entered the car, driving away from the school gate. "A few days after the young lady left, the master was attacked by some unknown people, but surprisingly, all the person did was kick the master and run away very fast. At first, we thought it was just a regular hit from an opposing party."

"Then what was it?" Chen Xi asked, not wanting to be kept in suspense.

"We realized later that the Master was poisoned, but we were not sure when that happened, so there was no sign of food poisoning, air poisoning, or poisoning by contact. We invited the family doctor, but he said that the source of the poison was unknown, and that the life essence of the master was practically being drained slowly."

Chen Xi felt curious, as her father's enemies could be counted on one hand. She wondered how the person who fought her knew that her father had encountered such a thing and how he even knew where to find her. Also, judging from the strength of the person, he should be a high-level martial artist.

"Milady, is anything wrong?" the driver asked, noticing that she was lost in thought and didn't respond to his narration of the event.

"Yes, what were you saying?" Chen Xi asked, not catching what he had asked.

"But I feel that this situation is very bizarre, because just as we were about to take the master to the hospital for treatment, he regained his strength. Though he seemed to be a little dispirited, he was diagnosed to be in good shape."

"It's already good that Father is alright. Let's speed up a little bit; I want to see Father."

Back in the school, Tang Yan went to the school rooftop and sat cross-legged, breathing loudly. Right now, he had just realized that the Golden Bone Technique he practiced was like armor, formed by drawing out a little essence and Qi from within the bone, forming a layer of similar bone clothing the original bone.

"Argh... What a waste of my precious soul power. Who would have thought that those monks' techniques would be like this? It's no surprise that they act mysterious, just to keep the simple in a complicated manner. Now I would have to crush this stupid skill within my body. What a pain."

Tang Yan sighed, complaining. If the monks in the Immortal Realm were to hear this, they would definitely spurt out blood from anger. The skill truly was a skill that formed armor to protect the bones, but it also strengthened the physical body, enhancing the potential of the practitioner.

It was a pity that Tang Yan was not accustomed to cultivating such skills.

"I should start with absorbing the surrounding Qi, since it's not as thin as the average people thought."

Tang Yan immediately began absorbing the surrounding Qi freely, sensing the surrounding air density. Although most of what he absorbed were impure Qi, it was converted as soon as it entered his body, separating the impurities into a particular vein in his body, using it to break down the Golden Bone Technique in his body, converting it to pure air as he breathed.

This process continued for two hours before successfully recycling everything in his body related to the technique. He opened his eyes, only to see himself with a slight nosebleed.

He suddenly stood up, wanting to take a step forward. "Damn, this is fucking painful... argh, ahhhhh!" he screamed agonizingly in a comical way.

The surrounding neighbors scolded Tang Yan for his sudden scream as they looked out from their windows. It was hard to believe that no one asked him what he was doing atop the school building, a prestigious and well-respected one at that.

Knowing that he had alerted the school patrol guards and security, Tang Yan jumped all the way down outside the school before running into the alley.

"My cultivation currently is now in the first level of Qi condensation. Using my previous life's knowledge, although I don't understand how I could break through so fast, just a day after repairing my meridians. It sure isn't thrilling; it must be the soul energy that wants to leak out that made it this way."

Tang Yan thought, noticing the new change in him as he ran, not feeling too happy about it.
