The cold tone in her voice at the last part did not deter my growing confidence at her recent praise. Katarina has always been tough on her warriors so this was already so much for someone like me.

She grabbed another two glasses and gave the other to me. “Enjoy the night, baby girl.” She showed me one of her arrogant smirks and winked at me before she left. I finally let out the smile I’ve been restraining to appear. I knew if I show it to her, she’ll only find a way to remove it.

“The Gamma didn’t give you a rest, huh?”

“Caleb!” I squealed, before lunging at him with a hug. I’ve forgotten that he was now the Delta and I should be more respectful. “Happy birthday!”

“Rin.” There was hesitance in his voice. He didn’t return my hug like he did earlier today. I let go, looking at him, smiling. He was looking around, wary of his surroundings. “You should stop hugging me with people around. What if my mate is here and she’ll misunderstand?” He said worriedly.
