Goodbye

“The warriors are not in their post right now. The Alpha called them all for a meeting. The borders are not guarded. No one will know if you sneak out and run away.”

“What?” She took a step closer to me and grabbed my arm, holding it in a grip as if what she heard was just her imagination. “What are you saying right now, Caleb?”

“What I’m saying is… it’s your chance to escape. You can go home, Rin.”

Her hand slowly let go of my arm. She looked down with a deep frown pensively. “Lucan…” It was whisper but with my enhanced hearing, I could hear it loud and clear.

I was shocked that she uttered his name. The more I see her like this, the more my heart clenched in pain for her.

She then looked up, meeting my eyes, as if she finally made a resolve. “Which direction?”
