Chapter 6 Just A Chase Part 1

There was a raging storm across the desolate wasteland, howling through the skeletal remains of long-dead colossal monster.

Lightning carved jagged scars into the peaceful night, momentarily illuminating the desolate landscape before plunging it back into darkness. Inside the hollowed skull of a fallen titan, Kaelvren lay on his makeshift bed—a crude nest of dried leaves stitched together with monster hide. The cool wind seeped through the cracks in the hollow skull, but exhaustion had long dulled Kaelvren's senses. Three weeks in this hell had hardened him, worn him down to his spine. Every wound, every bruise, every scar has etched on his body telling his story of survival.

And tonight, for the first time in weeks, sleep came easily.

Yet fate was never kind.

A violent tremor jolted him awake. The ground beneath him convulsed, a thunderous crack splitting the air like the roar of a dying god. Before Kaelvren could react, a deafening explosion shattered his shelter—the titan's skull caving inward as something massive crashed down.

His world turned to chaos.

Dust and bone fragments rained from above as an enormous foot slammed through the ceiling. The sheer force sent shockwaves through the earth, crushing everything beneath it—including him. An Agony seared through Kaelvren's body, sharp and burning. He barely had any time to understand what was happening before he saw a huge monstrous shadow above him and realized that he was in a grave danger.

His left arm—gone.

Torn from his body.

It was a Strom of pain a firestorm that burned through his nerves and left him on the blink of death. He was gasping, choking on dust and his blood was flowing as if it was creating a around him. His once a handsome face with a sharp, regal, untouched by time—was now has turn into a Blood streamed down his cheek, mixing with the filth of the wasteland. His body was hardened by battle but now was fragile beneath the weight of something far beyond his understanding.

Kaelvren's mind screamed at him to move, to fight, to survive—but the storm was only just beginning.

White-hot agony tore through Kaelvren's body—worse than anything he'd ever endured. His mind screamed, but the pain was relentless, consuming him from the inside out. He threw his head back and roared like an animal in a deep

cry which had shattered the silence of the desolate wasteland.

Blood gushed from his ragged stump where his right arm had once been which currently soaking the cracked earth beneath him in a crimson pool. His vision blurred, his breaths ragged and uneven, every heartbeat sending fresh waves of pain exploding through his body.

Through the haze of dust and dibris, he saw it.

A colossal being loomed before him, standing like an ancient sentinel of destruction. Its massive form was composed of jagged stone and shifting earth, its very presence warping the air around it. A force of nature, relentless and uncaring, leaving only ruin in its wake.

And now, it had noticed him.

The golem turned, shifting its direction. With his shift The ground trembled with each of its massive steps, sending waves of dust and debris into the air. Kaelvren's body screamed in pain, but survival override the pain. He run forward, his blood leaving a stark trail behind him, forcing himself to move beyond his limits. Every breath was a sharp, ragged gasp. Every single step sent fresh jolts of pain through his broken body. But stopping here would meant death.

He summon his dagger from his core.

it's a weapon infused with a skill that granted enhanced regeneration and Agility when killing. He clenched it tightly, pushing forward through this hoard of monster.

But the golem was not his only problem.

The scent of his spilled blood had drawn predators.

From the darkness, shadows slithered forward—low-ranked ravager wolves. Their yellow eyes gleamed with hunger, their gaunt frames tensed to strike. Normally, they would never dare approach someone like him. But now, they smelled weakness.

Above, bone vultures circled, screeching as they anticipated their next meal.

Kaelvren gritted his teeth. So… I'm going to be their food, huh?

The wolves lunged. His body wavered, shutting down, his breath coming too fast, his vision darkening at the edges. He knew he was losing too much blood.

With gritted determination, he ripped off his gloves, tore a strip from his supplies with his teeth, and hastily wrapped his ruined shoulder. It wouldn't stop the bleeding, but it would buy him enough time.

Time to fight.

Time to survive.

More creatures joined the chase.

From the shadows, grotesque horrors emerged—mutated limbs, jagged bones protruding unnaturally, their battered forms shrieking with unnatural hunger. Rank 3 predators. Faster. Stronger. Hungrier. And worst of all, the golem was still closing in.

Kaelvren clenched his teeth, forcing himself forward despite the agony tearing through his body. The darkness ahead loomed like a suffocating abyss, but it was his only chance. If he could reach the forest, he could use the terrain to his advantage.

But the monsters were gaining.

As he crossed the threshold into the Forest of Death, the world twisted into something nightmarish. Shadows swallowed the remaining light, coiling like living entities, distorting the landscape. Every step felt like wading through unseen terror.

Then the wolves struck.

Out of nowhere, a monstrous, wolf-like creature lunged from the left—its eyes blazing and hunger, fangs shining in the Moonlight as its massive claws tore through the air. Kaelvren barely twisted in time, feeling the rush of death graze past him.

Another wolf lunged, its snarling maw snapping inches from his throat.

In his desperate survival instinct, Kaelvren thrust his fist inside the mouth of wolf, into the Deep throat past its fangs, forcing his weight into the wolf's skull. The wolf gurgled—a choked, strangled sound—before its body went limp, but there was no time to breathe.

A second one pounced.

Claws raked across Kaelvren's chest, ripping through flesh. Pain flared like fire, but he used the momentum—rolling with the strike, twisting his body mid-fall, and slamming a desperate kick into the creature's side. The force was weak, unsteady—his balance compromised—but it was enough to throw the beast off.

He staggered to his feet, dagger raised, breath ragged.

Another howl tore through the trees.

His muscles screamed, exhaustion clawing at him, but his wounds were already sealing. The regeneration from his kills slowed the blood loss—nowhere near enough to regrow his arm, but enough to keep him standing.

It wouldn't matter.

The golem was still coming.

A thunderous roar split the Dark Sky.In The jungle trees behind him shattered, torn from their roots as the monstrous titan bulldoze them through the forest. Goblin-like creatures scattered in its wake, snarling and snapping, their wild eyes fill with hunger.

Kaelvren had only one option left.

He pushed himself forward, lungs burning, feet barely finding purchase on the unstable ground. Then—suddenly—his world stopped.

The ground beneath him vanished.

A sheer drop.

The edge of cliff loomed infront of him, from he can look towards the abyss where a raging river carved through the valley below, its waters crashing against the jagged rocks from The distant mountains stood silent, indifferent.

This was the end.

Behind him, the monsters gathered. Rank 1, 2, and 3 horrors—all drawn by the scent of his blood, their hunger insatiable.

His gut twisted. His chest heaved.

No escape. His left hand clenched tightly around his dagger. His Every breath came in ragged gasps, his body trembling from exhaustion and pain as a if he is going to fall into The arms of death.

But his eyes—his eyes burned with something else.

Madness.

If he was going to die, he would take as many of them with him as he could. At least three.

That was enough.

A devilish grin appears across his bloodied face with that He threw his head back and roared as if he was challenging, those monster with this, his voice echoing across the cliffs.

"COME ON THEN! LET'S SEE WHO GETS THE LAST BITE!"
