ATTACK

I was running deep in the forest. I was panting and sweating as I ran deeper into the forest, fear dancing around my face. I was being chased by dark creatures that I couldn't even see their faces. They were three creatures, each five inches bigger than the other. They had white fangs and looked so brutal. They weren't even running on the ground with me. They were jumping on trees like monkeys. They kept on chasing me until I tripped over a stone and fell down. The creatures jumped down from the tree and began to walk slowly towards me predators catching their prey. I had to face them using my hands to crawl backwards slowly. They kept on advancing towards me and I did the only thing I knew I could do. I let out a loud scream and then I woke up.

I sat up in bed drenched in my own sweat. My nightmare was enough to make me pant heavily. My hands on each side of me began to glow green.

"What the...." I muttered to myself.

I removed the duvet and climbed out of bed. I looked at my hands.

"What am I doing?" I began to ask myself. "I need to be rational." I started taking deep breaths and once I had calmed down, the glowing stopped.

"Weird."

I checked the time on my clock radio. 4:40am. I might as well leave the house since I can't sleep anymore. I hurriedly dressed up and left the house for my usual morning routine.

As I was jogging in the park, I heard some noises coming from the bushes. I stopped jogging and then moved closer to the bushes. I saw two people there. It seems like they were looking for something and arguing at the same time. What the fudge were two people doing in the park at this early hour. I bent down so that they won't spot me and began to listen to their conversation.

"Where is it?" The first voice said.

"How would I know. Boss said it was in this park." The second voice said. From their voices, it seems as if they're men.

"We should have been here yesterday if you hadn't stalled us." The first voice said. "Who knows if someone else picked it up."

I tried to move a little bit when I stepped on a twig and it snapped. I froze immediately. "Darn it."

"Who's there?" The second voice roared. "Come out. Who's there?"

Sweet mother of Jesus, I am so done for. I held my hand tightly over my mouth and began to crawl out, trying to be as quiet as possible.

"Stop shouting you idiot." The first voice said. "Do you want someone to hear us."

"But there is someone....."

"There's no one. It might have been a rabbit that stepped on a twig."

"We're in a park not a forest." The second voice said sarcastically.

"Let's get out of here." The first voice said.

I was by the statue at that time. I was panting heavily.

"Well, that was close." I said. "I've had enough for today. I think I better go home."

I checked the time. 5:20 am. I turned around and headed back home. I then freshened up and got dressed for school. I then remembered my and the crazy sparks so I wore a black vest and an oversized denim jacket to cover my hands. My dad bought the jacket for me last Christmas. Turns out he ordered the wrong size. But I decided to keep it anyways. My dad had travelled for a business meeting last week. He said he was gonna be back on Saturday.

"Morning mum." I greeted as I came downstairs and entered the kitchen.

"You're up early." Chole my bratty little sister said.

"Shut it." I replied glaring at her.

"Didn't you do your routine today?" Mom asked.

"Nope, I overslept."

"You sure?" Jose my brother asked with a sly smile. I ignored him.

"Mum I'm off." I said grabbing an apple from the counter. Mum didn't bother asking me about breakfast again.

"Ok." She said simply.

I left immediately. I had to tell Natalie what happened this morning.
