Chapter 5

Melody burst into tears of joy, shouting "I love you" while excitedly hugging Liam.

They looked like a couple deeply in love.

I shook my head and chuckled softly. After all these years, Liam's tricks for wooing women hadn't changed a bit.

When he proposed to me, the diamond on the ring was even more extravagant than this.

He said he wanted to give me the best in the world.

So our wedding was incredibly grand, just like a fairytale prince and princess's wedding celebration.

The wedding dress I wore was created by the world's top designers, handpicked by him from all corners of the globe.

Back then, everyone said Liam loved me more than life itself.

But less than a year into our marriage, he slept with my best friend on my birthday.

After that, he brazenly brought various women home to flirt with them.

So what is love, really?

I don't understand, and I don't want to understand anymore.

"Seraphina, here's some dinner for you."

Melody, having just finished cuddling with Liam, brought a plate over to me.

On the plate was a bread roll.

I frowned, about to refuse, when Liam suddenly spoke up:

"Melody specially saved that for you. Don't be ungrateful."

Left with no choice, I picked it up and pretended to take a bite.A strange taste suddenly spread throughout my mouth.

Liam stood in front of me, his eyes gleaming with excitement as he said:

"This bread roll was steamed using Melody's breast milk. Don't be so ungrateful."

What?!

Hearing this, I immediately felt my stomach churn and couldn't help but gag.

I spat out all the bread roll that was in my mouth.

Liam furrowed his brow, his eyes filled with disgust:

"Do you know how nutritious breast milk is?!"

"You're like a hog that can't appreciate fine food!"

Ignoring him, I ran straight to the bathroom to rinse my mouth.

This is insane!

"I'm sorry... Sister Seraphina."

"I didn't realize you wouldn't like it..."

"I saw Liam really enjoyed it, so I thought you would too."

Melody followed me into the bathroom, timidly apologizing.

I glanced at her slightly swollen belly, inwardly laughing.

Yesterday, the private investigator gave me a stack of photos showing Melody's promiscuity. I guess she's not much cleaner than Liam.

Does she really think she can enter the Winters family just by carelessly getting pregnant?

Liam isn't that stupid.

"Little sister, you should just focus on your pregnancy."Mrs. Winters, that position will be yours sooner or later."

I smiled nonchalantly and stepped out.

As soon as I exited the restroom, I saw Liam looking this way with a nervous expression.

Was he afraid I would bully Melody?

I smiled self-mockingly and walked into the kitchen, closing the door behind me.

The next day was my departure day.

I woke up early and packed my luggage quietly.

I couldn't wake Liam and the others; I was afraid something might go wrong again.

I didn't have much stuff, everything fit into one suitcase.

Before leaving, I placed the glass bottle and a stack of photos on the most conspicuous table in the living room.

Liam, I hope you can continue to be arrogant and domineering after seeing these.

After finishing everything, I boarded the plane to Los Angeles without looking back.
