[Beep! A Zombie detected, rank; unclassified.]
"I can clearly see that," her lips trembled as she looked at the seven feet tall creature in front of her.
It's body seemed to be alive somehow, with small tiny hands sticking out wiggling everywhere, his Its metallic claws were extremely long, Its red glowing eyes were sunken deep into its rotting skull. She noticed it has no lips leaving just stretched, worn out lines of black skin. Decaying skin kept growing, and falling out as it walked.
Her heart dropped to her stomach she kept trembling like a leaf in front of this strange Zombie.
"What kind of zombie is this?" She asked no one in particular, completely petrified.
"Well, hello there weak human," it snarled, its voice sounding like rumble of waters.
"My name is the Ripperborn," a low chuckle vibrated off its chest, causing the tiny hands on its body to shrink back for a while.
Her bones froze as it spoke, sending numb chills throughout her bones. She was freezing hot for some reason, as sweat dripped all over her face even though she was chilled to the bones.
"Wh- who are you?" Her teeth clattered as she spoke.
It took a step forward, "One of them you killed!"
Her brows creased as she managed to take a step further away from it, her limbs still trembling as though she just walked through the shadows of death.
"I.. don't think I ever ki- killed you, how.. did.. I haven't even..." Her lips fumbled as she managed to get coherent words out of her mouth.
She looked behind her for any sign of Heuk Jin but he was nowhere to be found.
'Was he the source of the threat Aegenesis was talking about?'
Her eyes widened at the thought, "Sweet Heavens," she bit her fingers, finally getting to her feet. Any moment from now, she had to run for her life.
"You stupid intruder! You dare invade our space and intend to kill us all? Just like that?!" It thundered, stamping its right foot.
The impact of the stamp shook her, so she lost her balance, and fell back.
"I will crush you till no traces of your flesh can be seen," it leaned forward, "Mark. My. Words."
It straightened itself, "Don't worry, I'm not attacking you right now," it took a look at its claws, then wiggled them, "I came to give a warning."
It turned on its heels, "Be prepared weak human. I will return," with that, it sauntered away.
Soo Min-ji's face had gone pale white as she froze on the spot. She was sure her heart was no longer with her as she couldn't even feel it beating at this point.
"Min-ji?" She heard his calm velvety voice behind her.
Still frozen, she managed to turn her neck around to see Heuk Jin standing behind her with a worried expression.
"Di-- did you see that?" She swallowed, her face completely drained of blood.
He came closer, wrapping his hands around his shoulders, "I think he is supposed to come at me instead."
She arched her brows, "What? Why?"
"I was the one who killed them," his hair fell over his face casting a shadow over it.
"Wh- what are you even talking about? Killed what?"
He whipped up his head to look at her, "Do you not remember the day I saved you from those shamblers? How did you think they stopped chasing you? I had wiped them off with a grenade."
Her eyes widened, "Oh no. One of them had survived."
"As it seems," he groaned, tightening his grip around her shoulders. He clenched his jaw hard, gritting his teeth, "This is bad. We do not know when he will attack, and we have to be at alert at all times."
Soo Min-ji felt too weak at that moment so she let her face fall on his chest. She was petrified, how would she fight against something like that?
"I am sorry. I will take care of this," he snaked his arms around her waist comforting her, "I will think of something. You will not face the consequences of my actions."
She tilted her head a little so she could have a peek of his face, "You are his kind. He might be lenient with you. He would of course be so harsh with me."
His hands still on her shoulders, he pulled back, "Do not overthink this, everything will be fine. Trust me," he patted her shoulders.
Her eyes drooped. He was doing too much to take her mind off this.
"Listen, you level up right?"
She creased her brows, "First my name, now you know I level up too? Who exactly is..."
"I have a system too," a smirk appeared at the corner of his lips.
Her heart skipped several beats, "Oh.. I see," she felt a pang of jealousy tugging at her chest.
So his system could find everything about her, but her system couldn't do the same for her? What in the name of the apocalypse was going on?
"Oh, that is fine," he ruffled her hair, "We just have to make sure you are leveled up before then, and must have earned more points or whatever.. okay?" He cupped her cheeks.
Her eyes met with his. They had mini diamonds in them, and it made her head spin.
This Zombie was dangerously delicious for his own good.
"Oh.." heat rose to her cheeks, "Ye- yes.. I understand.."
He flashed her a warm smile, "That is a good girl right there," he let go of her shoulder.
"We will do this together Min-ji, don't you worry," he turned on his heels, then began to walk away.
"We.. huh?" Electric shivers ran all over her body in the most inappropriate ways.
Stop it Min-ji! That's a dead man alright? Stop, stop!
He looked over his shoulders giving her a quizzical look, "What? Come on, come here."
"I.." she was still frozen to the spot unable to even get up.
"Are you still scared?"
She found herself nodding before she could stop herself.
A small smile lit his face up, "You do not have to be a baby about it," he came back to her, scooping her into his arms.
"I am here for you, alright princess?"
