Huffing her way out of the office and back down to the corridor, Caroline strode past the turn off to her room and headed towards the dining hall. The closer she got, the more confident she was that the headmistress couldn’t stop her from seeing her friends. Yet when she stepped into the dining hall, she couldn’t find them anywhere. Scowling, she jogged towards the rear exit of the academy and burst through the door and ran down the steps towards the bleachers. They weren’t there either.


With her hands on her head, Caroline tried to think of where else to look. Realizing they may have headed off to their first classes early, she ran back up to the academy and raced towards her room, ignorant to the glances and stares she was accumulating from her peers as she dashed through the halls.
