"Did you think bringing in a woman to act would make me change my mind?"
"When did you become so childish, Dashiell?"
As I listened to her sarcasm, I fell into reminiscence.
I really was too childish.
Serenity and I had been together for a full ten years.
From college to our careers.
Our peers had already started families, but she was still unwilling to discuss marriage.
Ever since that incident three years ago, the rumors about her and other men never stopped.
We had countless arguments and cold wars.
We even entertained thoughts of breaking up.
But every time, in the end, I chose to compromise.
I just never thought that merely bringing up marriage once before the new year would trigger our longest cold war yet.
In the end, she chose someone else.
And in my life, a new figure appeared.
Coming back to my senses, I looked at the star projector on the table.
A smile tugged at the corner of my lips.
"Serenity, you're overthinking this."
