The exit door isn't real

" Sometimes the only way out is through the part of yourself you fear the most."She found the door again - this time in the southern hallway - a place she hadn't dared to enter before. Something about it always felt ....wrong. Like it had been built to trick her mind. The door was red. This time, not flickering. Solid. Real. She could feel the metal against her fingertips.

A voice echoed in her head.

" Go. Before they realize you remember."

She turned the handle. The door opened to sunlight.

A busy street. The smell of fresh bread. Children laughing in a distance.

Freedom.Aarav stood just a few steps ahead. He looked tired, but smiled like she was his entire world.

"You did it Nyra!""You're back." he said.

She stepped into his arms. For a moment, she let herself believe it. That she escaped. That she was real. That this was the end.

Then - her skin buzzed beneath her touch.Glitched.

His face shimmered like a corrupt file. One side Aarav. One side Sorav. Then Allen.

"No..." she stepped back.

The world's twisted. The buildings folded in on them like origami. The laughter of children slowed to a demonic crawl.

She turned around. The red door was gone. And in its place - an observation window.Inside it, SHE was strapped to a chair. Wires across her temples. Her mouth slightly parted in shock.Eyes wide open, but lifeless.

And a screen above her displayed one word:" SUBJECT RESET INITIATED."

"No.." , she choked out. "This isn't real......This isn't real-"

Behind her a voice - Allen's - Cold and clinical:

"Sometimes, the mind builds its own escape rooms. Clever little mazes. We just need to make sure she forgets the exits."

She collapsed.

Her fingers crawled the ground as the world pixelated around her. Her name - Nyra shattered like glass in her mind.

"Who am I?"A shadow knelt beside her:"You were Elira, once!"What do you think who is she?

Nyra?

Kaira?

Elira?

Or someone else?
