Ep13: Chasing The Truth

Amara stared at the map spread across her lap, tracing one of the thin, dashed lines that led from the old chapel on the hill into the forest's heart. It felt like a puzzle meant just for her. It was dangerous—and too important to ignore.

She slipped the map into her pocket and crept downstairs. The manor was quiet.

She paused at the front door, fingers hovering over the latch. In the city, she'd never do anything like this —but here, every secret felt like it might save her life.

The chapel loomed under a silver sliver of moon, its windows dark. Amara ducked beneath the ivy-draped arch and pressed the map to the stone wall. There was a small carving—a crescent moon cradling a claw, It matched the symbol on the map.

Her heart hammered as she pressed the carving. The stone shifted, revealing a narrow staircase spiraling downward.

She gripped her flashlight and descended.

At the bottom, the air was cool and damp. The walls were carved with wolf figures and human faces stared down at her. Torch sconces flanked a stone altar.

Amara's breath caught when she saw the central carving: it depicted a human girl surrounded by wolves bowing at her feet beneath a blood moon.

Her pulse thundered.

This was about her. Not just a random threat or a summer fling. Her arrival had been written here long before she ever packed her bags.

She heard a shift behind her which made her spin. Lucian stepped into the chamber's entrance.

You shouldn't be here, Lucian growled

His voice low—not angry, but concerned.

I found a map," she said, voice trembling. It leads here. This… this place is about me.

He closed the distance, eyes scanning the carvings. They called you the Bloodmoon Child. A living symbol of power—one that every pack feared.

She shook her head. I'm just a city girl on summer break.

Lucian looked at her. But this map… and these carvings… they prove you're more than that.

Amara swallowed. So you mean the threats… they weren't random. They wanted to stop me from finding this.

Lucian nodded. Your presence upsets the balance. Some want to control you. Others want to destroy you before your strength awakens.

She pressed her hand to the altar's cold stone. Then help me learn. I can't run home. Not now that I know the truth.

Lucian's jaw softened. I promise, i won't let you face this alone.

He extended his hand. Come with me.

She hesitated—then took it.
