Synopsis

Cedric was nothing but a nameless beggar, scraping by on the harsh streets of the capital. Handsome, sharp-witted, but forgotten by the world—until fate took a strange turn. One fateful evening, a young girl cloaked in noble grace extended her hand toward him: Aveline Leonheart, the heiress to the mighty and feared Leonheart family.

To the shock of nobles and commoners alike, the head of the Leonheart family appointed Cedric as Aveline’s personal guard. Raised from rags to armor, Cedric trained in the shadows of the Leonheart estate, sworn to serve and protect the girl who had saved him from the gutter.

Now, at 18, Aveline is set to attend the most prestigious academy in the kingdom—an elite institution brimming with powerful nobles, deadly secrets, and unseen threats. By her side, Cedric must navigate this treacherous new world where strength means survival, and loyalty is tested at every turn.

As dangers grow in the academy’s halls and enemies close in from the shadows.

I just wrapped up the first 11 chapters of The Sword Without A House, and honestly? It’s already shaping up to be something special. The worldbuilding is smooth, the pacing feels right, and Cedric as the MC is both relatable and intriguing—he’s not your typical overpowered hero from the get-go, which makes his growth feel earned and satisfying. The early chapters do a great job setting up the stakes and characters without dragging. And now that the academy arc is starting, it really feels like the real story is about to begin. I’m excited to see how things unfold from here, especially with the whole academy drama, harem moments, action, and power progression that's clearly coming. If the author keeps up this flow and level of storytelling, I can easily see this becoming a favorite. Definitely keeping an eye on this one. please author please maintain this storytelling.

That's the third novel that I read after start reading novels. Honestly till now novels that i read became paid after some chapters. Good thing here is it's free bad thing there are less chapters. Who knows author might came up with paid chapters in future. But as long as it's about review it was good reading ngl. I don't care about harem or romance. It felt like sudden pop of females in academy but aside from that . I liked the detailed fighting scene where author actually showed how he is fighting with spear in one hand and sword in other hand.

I’ve been following this author’s work for a while, and even though this novel only has seven chapters so far, I can already tell it’s their strongest story yet. The writing is tighter, the characters are more compelling, and the world-building has so much depth—I’m completely hooked! It’s rare for a story to grab me this quickly, but the pacing and intrigue are just that good. If this is how strong it is in the beginning, I can’t wait to see where it goes. Seriously, if you liked their previous books, you’re going to love this one even more. Keep the chapters coming—I’m already obsessed!
