"Mr. Winters truly lives up to his reputation as a financial genius! It's amazing how he can effortlessly predict stock trends. We're truly impressed."
"Absolutely! I wonder if Mr. Winters could give us a few pointers. Even if we can't feast like him, we'd be happy with just a taste of his success."
These compliments inflated Jason's ego to no end, and he basked in the adulation.
"Well, let me offer you all some advice. The future belongs to AI. I've carefully selected the Elemental AI stock, and it's going to explode. You can buy with confidence."
"As for that car stock someone chose, you'd better steer clear of it. It's been dropping for days now, and it's going to crash soon. If you buy now, you'll lose your shirt!"
With that, Jason shot me a mocking glance, as if ridiculing my incompetence.
Hearing his words, everyone rushed to buy shares of Elemental AI. Some even called their friends and family, urging them to invest.
The stock price skyrocketed instantly. Within minutes, it had hit its daily limit.
Jason was right about one thing: the future does belong to AI. However, the stock he picked was a massive trap. While Elemental AI's stock had been climbing for days and looked good on paper, it was far from a safe bet.But this is nothing more than a false prosperity. As far as I know, the CEO of Quantum AI is just a flashy facade. He's been preparing to run off with the money these past few days. The next time the market opens, this stock will definitely crash hard.
In contrast, the electric vehicle stock I bought has almost hit its lower limit these past few days. But this company has basically established its overseas markets well, and doesn't rely on foreign parts. It's sure to be incredibly profitable in the future. Now is the best time to buy.
I glanced at the crowd frantically buying stocks and sighed. Buy if you want to, I thought. I've already warned them anyway. It's not my problem if they lose money.
Seeing that I said nothing, Jason thought I regretted my decision and looked at me mockingly.
"Brent, I really despise you. How could a loser like you ever be worthy of Mr. Stratton? You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror!"
"If I were you, I would've left ages ago. I really don't understand how you have the nerve to stay here!"
Trash like him wasn't even worth getting angry over. I casually adjusted my earbuds.
"You say I'm not good enough for Melody. Then who is? You?"
Having his intentions exposed, Jason's face turned red and his voice grew louder."What's wrong with me? I'm a finance graduate from overseas, which is much better than you. After a few years of experience in the company, I'll be on par with Mr. Stratton."
"Oh, a finance graduate from overseas, how incredibly capable," I clapped my hands in mock praise, my face full of disdain.
My contemptuous attitude thoroughly enraged Jason. He pointed at my nose and yelled furiously.
"Who are you to mock me? Let me tell you the truth, Mr. Stratton has already agreed to make me the company's vice director. You'd better pack your bags and get lost!"
I was stunned for two seconds, a flash of coldness passing through my eyes as I stared directly at Melody.
"Is what he's saying true? Are you really going to let him replace me?"
Melody's face flickered with a hint of discomfort, but her voice remained as self-righteous as ever.
