CHAPTER EIGHT: REASONS REVEALED

But you, you Tina, you are way far from him, you are from a rich home, I'm wealthy and have invested a lot on you….he continued, 

"It is said that birds of the same feathers flock together, and Tony is not and should never be your spec.

You see, you are educated, beautiful, intelligent, smart and more

And any man that should marry you has to be more than our standard . 

"You see, I have acquired so much wealth and my beloved sister shouldn't settle for less, we must keep the target high. Since you are my only sister left unmarried, I see you as my last hope of fulfilling my dreams.

Tina, you have always respected my opinions more than your two sisters and I never had doubt you will oppose my decision of quitting your relationship with Anthony.

But today, you have proven to me, you are no longer the baby I used to know but a different matured girl who has seen the order side of life, and what can I do? Nothing. I'm just begging you please don't let my friends laugh at me, because I hold you in high esteem". Kennedy said trying to convince me to support him 

But brother, Tony wasn't born poor, he is also from a wealthy home, Tony's dad was a wealthy man more than our dad until death also took him away and his brothers inherited his wealth and properties kicking Tony and his poor mother out of the house without leaving anything to them for their survival. 

And, that is why Tony is like this, but still, he has been working very hard to earn a living for himself and his mum. Can't you see that?" I asked Kennedy, trying to convince him to see from my own point of view.

"Yes I know, but still Tony is not the ideal man for you" Kennedy added.

"Really, you mean loving a man who works hard without depending on his father's wealth is not ideal? I muttered as I went back to my sit position.

I was lost in thoughts and wasn't able to place my finger round it: is this the reason he has wanted me to stay away from Tony? I cried because I feel so sorry for poor and innocent Tony whom life has thrown the stone of challenges to.

"I haven't called you all here to spoil your mood, but to tell you my decision I have made today".

"Tina, I want to tell you here and now, that from now henceforth you and Tony are allowed to be free with your relationship with each other"

"Wowww" every one chorused together in excitement while Kennedy's wife ran to embrace him. Thank you she said to him while leaving a kiss on his forehead. 

At that moment everyone felt relieved and there was an atmosphere of peace everywhere In the house. 

In my greatest awe I couldn't believe my ears, I giggled, my mouth was heavy to speak and my legs too were heavy to stand up to say thank you.

Still on my site I stared at my beloved brother with so much love and pride, 

"Thank you big brother" was the only word I could say, 

I ran to embrace him jumping on his body, I kissed his forehead just to show my excitement.

For there is no better word to describe how grateful and excited I am towards my brother.

At least now. …..I'm a free woman, free indeed. 

I went to hug mum, my aunt, Cynthia and every other person in the house, and that includes my wonderful grandma who is also my partner in crime, hahahaha, I laughed.

Yes. I don't need to spend anymore minutes to go in and inform the love of my life that we have won. Yes. We won the battle. 

Anthony and I have finally won and no one can stand on our Way again I said and dashed off to my room.

I picked up my phone to call Tony and this time he picked at once without taking two seconds as if he too had been waiting for the call for a long time.

"Hi baby" good evening. I greeted my king 

"Evening sweet heart" Anthony replied…. Hearing that name sweetheart melts my heart the most.

"How are you doing baby?" Norrison informed me that you will be discharged this morning. are you back" he asked me 

"Yes baby I got discharged from the hospital this morning, I'm sorry I didn't call you". I apologize d

"No, it's okay, it's all my fault, I should have called you but I didn't because mum told me to stay away for now until things are settled, so I have to respect her and hold to her advice" Tony explained.

"Ok babe, just guess what" I said trying to play games with his intelligence 

"No I can't guess, just tell me my heart is leaps" 

" Okay I will tell you" but you have to promise to get me a chocolate ice cream when we see" I proposed.

"Alright, that I will absolutely get for you my lady" and he laughed 

"Thanks my love" …..I replied before I go further 

"So, my brother, I mean my world best brother has given us his approval to go ahead with our relationship without any interruptions from him or any one else" 

Anthony was super excited on hearing this good news. He screamed.

" Sweet heart, are you sure he isn't planning any more drama further" how serious he was when he said it.

He is serious, very serious dear, and as a matter of fact he said in the presence of all the family members and I'm certain he meant each and every word he had promised.
