Having Faith

As the world was painted into a mirage of purples, Kai released all the lightning he had absorbed and released it upon the titanic storm.

The titan had sensed what Kai was doing in the last moment before he sent out his lightning, and by accidentally acknowledging him as a threat it unconsciously revealed its core.

It's Beast vein.

All titans contain what's called a 'Beasts Vein' that follows the same laws as a spirit vein. The layers of a titans beast vein correlates to their rank, and the number of their pathways correlates to their star ranking just like humans.

Kai of course had noticed this small mistake, it was exactly what he had been waiting for. From the beginning he knew his insignificant dormant spirit vein was not enough to absorb the scorching lightning, so instead he decided to lure the beast out into the open.

Although, Kai could never have predicted something so perfect such as the situation he was in right now to happen. That was because before, he had believed that the titan had been hiding somewhere within the storm, controlling it. But now that the beast's core had revealed itself a different reality set itself in place.

Kai had got it wrong, the titan wasn't hiding within the storm… It was the storm.

The proof was clear in front of his eyes. Not just his though, because even Loni and Karma were dumbstruck about what was transpiring. In fact both their mouths were agape in awe.

What was even more terrifying though, was the fact that this petrifying beast was not just any titan but a natural disaster in its own right. Not only that but focusing more on the titan's beast vein Loni could tell it was no mere dormant like them, no…

It was a Kaiju.

Kaiju were known amongst men as man-eating terrors, they were the monsters mothers talked about in bedtime stories. Truly, they were creatures straight out of nightmares. Which made Kai's feat in repelling the titan's grueling attacks even more astonishing.

They weren't even close to the most powerful types of titans, but for a dormant mutated they were like demigods.

Karma had only ever wanted to protect Kai, be there for him. So as he looked up at this being that spewed bolts of purple lightning in all directions, a being who he had always ever thought of as a little twin brother, it was hard for him to come to terms with the fact that they had to change. And if they didn't the world would gobble them up like petty little snacks.

In that moment Kai raised both hands towards the beast vein looming above, its tainted soul source only barely visible. What lay at its center was a single cloud.

Then condensing the surging lightning shooting out all around him into a spherical ball between his two hands, Kai screamed out:

"Get ready to fall!"

With that he launched the burning ball of electricity towards the Kaiju's beast vein.

The sphere of lightning shot across the sky, covering the distance between it and its target in a second. As it came into contact with the core a thin shield of wind tried pushing it back, but the deadly attack was just too viscous.

Pushing past the barrier of wind, the blazing ball made full contact with the beast vein. The world flashed with white and periwinkle shades then the ball of lightning bounced off the core, leaving a shallow slice on its now blemished surface.

Following the obliterating strike a low groan escaped from somewhere, making even the air itself tremble.

Loni and Karma had to cover their ears from the reverberating cry, knowing this too would make their ears bleed, just like the deafening thunder.

Though, Kai had a different expression on his face. Looking up at the titan's wounded beast vein, a devious smile formed on his face. Even though the ball of lightning had only left a shallow wound on the core, he knew that it was still a deadly blow. His suspicion was even further justified by the Kaiju's harrowing cry.

'Sorry not sorry.'

Just as Kai thought this a disturbing beastial face formed on the inside of the funnel wall. The titan had finally come in all its glory.

Though, none of the three mutated got a good look at it because they were already falling. The Kaiju was abandoning it's meal, which meant it was gonna send them plunging to their deaths.

"Oh, come on!"

Karma's angry voice echoed as they descended.

"Jobs not finished yet! We can still get out of this alive! Now's the time, Karma."

Loni's eyes shown with burning determination as she shouted her orders to Karma, and with a mischievous grin he summoned his flames.

Condensing a fiery ball into one hand, he shot it down below to where the group was falling. Then the fissuring ball dispersed into a field of flames burning in the sky.

In the next instance Loni activated her affinity and conjured a powerful up draft. Wind and fire was a powerful combo indeed. Using Karma's flames as a source of momentum for her wind, she sent they're small cohort flying up.

The maneuver was so powerful in fact, it sent the three mutated flying up and out of the raging funnel cloud. So high that they got above the clouds, and could see the setting sun in the distance.

And as they began to reach they're peak height Kai thought to himself:

'Even a poor imitation of Seria is still so beautiful…'

Then they began to fall again.

Rapidly, they descended back to the ground picking up more and more speed. Eventually Karma's voice could be heard through the wind whizzing past their ears.

"Uhh guys, glad we escaped and all, but how are we supposed to land?"

"I guess we didn't think about that, did we!?"

As Kai responded, the distance between them and the ground was closing quickly, and before they knew it they would be flattened into mush. Their efforts would be for nothing.

That was until a comfortable breeze enveloped all three of them, slowing their fall just before hitting the ground. And as their feet landed in the soft emerald grass, Kai could see Loni facing towards the sunset's horizon. The beautiful, now dark blue sky was once again clear, and stars littered the later afternoon sky.

Then turning her head to look back at her companions, Loni's soft, clear voice could be heard.

"Have a little more faith, would you?"
